At just 15 he started his first internship in a professional kitchen and, even though his family had no connections within the world of exclusive cuisine, Joshua knew that this was the world that he wanted to work in.

The cuisine at Mural is diverse, complex and often surprising and uses carefully selected regional products. These sustainably produced ingredients are the key to the unique flavours and nuances that each dish is built from. Quirky combinations of flavours merge to create an explosion of taste and the ever-changing menu means that guests can try something new month after month. With over 1,100 different wines on offer, Mural has one of the largest and most stylistic wine lists in the city and sommelier Wolfgang Hingerl is on hand to select the best wines to complement every dish.
Mural’s Ambience
Mural is located in the Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art in Munich's city centre and takes inspiration from much of the artwork that is on display in the museum. With an industrial feel with the walls decorated by internationally renowned artists, the restaurant has been carefully decorated to ensure that the main protagonist is the food and that the setting is secondary. With a convivial feel, the restaurant is designed for groups to eat together and for an atmosphere to build as the night goes on.
Mural’s Events
Mural, and the space within the Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art, can be hired for corporate events with the team on hand to make sure that you have everything you need to make your event a success. Mural can also host private events such as birthdays, weddings or anniversaries and will help with everything from a bespoke menu to decoration.
We have regulars who say after every visit: today was even better. That’s nice, that’s what we aim to achieve, and I don’t think that ever stops – whether you’re 27 or 50, you have to get better all the time, especially in the area of Michelin-starred gastronomy
