Chef Markus Rath is all about Styrian specialties. At the heart of the restaurant’s cuisine are fried chicken, beef roulade, and goulash. Rath complements his no-frills classics with inventive creations, made with only the best seasonal ingredients and local farm products. At Schlosskeller Südsteiermark’s, chef Rath wonderfully demonstrates the secret family recipes he learned from his mother and grandmother. On the restaurant’s menu, you’ll find popular house specialties. Think of a Sunday roast, as well as “Schweinerei” (assorted cuts of pork, sausage, graves dumplings, and cabbage). If you’re in an adventurous mood, you can order the four-course surprise menu.
