Bine Volčič has nurtured a passion for cooking since childhood, so there was no doubt about which profession was meant for him. He also gained knowledge in Paris, where he studied classical French culinary arts. He then worked in various hospitality establishments, both large and small, and in 2016, he opened his bistro Monstera in Ljubljana, which was awarded a Michelin Green Star for sustainable gastronomy. At the height of the uncertainty during the first wave of the pandemic, he and his wife decided to establish a modern "homestead" in Goričko. Today, this space offers guests shelter, relaxation, and an abundance of delicious treats from nature and nearby farms. The move is also the reason he concluded his role as a judge on MasterChef Slovenia after six seasons.

Grad, SloveniaBine Volčič is a “nature-driven chef”. He was awarded with the Michelin green star for sustainable gastronomy for his “zero-waste” philosophy and cooking style in his Monstera bistro (Ljubljana). Since 2023 he shifted his lifestyle by moving to the countryside and together with his wife Katarina he opened the doors of their home in the peaceful rural environment of Goričko. On weekends they host guests and invite them to discover the far North-eastern corner of Slovenia in a culinary way at a common table; foraged delicacies, locally grown products and regional wines are showcased in Saturday tasting dinner, “early-birds” can feed their spirit at morning yoga and everyone is welcome to become a part of a unique “weekend family.”
